The post strike had slightly annoyed me by denying me a parcel from the states for a bit but it came yesterday. Non-games fans can leave now as the parcel was the new Zelda DS game.
Oh indeed it’s a thing of beauty. The controls work well in the main with a bit of fiddle to some of them. So this afternoon may pass in a blur of Zelda and sorting the car out.
Yes the car is in for its MOT today. I told them that if it passes (or fails with cheap corrections needed only) then I’d ask them to do the new clutch and a full service. Hopefully things will work out. I don’t feel like spending a grand on that car and the clutch is a good chunk of that grand (but really needs doing).
So a fun and horrible day alternately.
[edit: car failed the MOT but only on something they reckon will cost a tenner to fix. Sound.]
Have fun.

From the Metro “newspaper” (29/08/07). Can you figure out the answer?
Abbeys and old monasteries
Are all inhabited by these.
Some have tonsures, some don’t speak,
Prayers fill their working week.
Are there really some folk who wouldn’t get this “Enigma”?
V poor.
Oh and while I’m on the subject of rubbish in the paper here’s the last line of my horoscope for the day. Quite taught me something it did:
“You’ll make things worse for yourself if you lie.”
Really?

There was a cute game for the Wii called Rayman:Raving Rabbids and it wasn’t great BUT it did introduce the Rabbids which are the best characters in gaming for some time. Inevitably there’s to be a sequel and some promo clips are doing the rounds on various sites. Some are dull but this one here is wonderful. One of the funniest little clips I’ve seen for some time.
Have fun.

Dr Ruth posted a wotsit and here’s my version:

Ah well some of it worked. And I did cheat a bit ‘cos half the stuff that came out was Japanese or Finnish or wotnot (and I haven’t got half my CDs and all my vinyl on the pc yet so not really a proper go at it).
The 365 Project’s answers are after the clicky below:

I was dreaming the other night. K was wide awake and apparently enjoying my breathing and noises. She thought I was dreaming about nice ladies (or lady) or something equally exciting.
In fact I was being Mario. I was walking around a perfectly normal town and stopped in a normal garden. A plant then suddenly reached out to bite me. Cue the start of a battle as per “Paper Mario” or “Partners in Time”. So I had to figure out that jumping on the thing would hurt it – I didn’t have a hammer at this point. Then it was his turn and I had to avoid the attacks by strategic leaping. When I got hit the amount of damage taken appeared above me as per the games. It was fun.

Just installed internet scrabble from here. Any takers for a good game?
I’m on as MJuggler (it wouldn’t let me have my full name).
Seems to work ok and if anyone knows how to run the more advanced features then please let me know. Partic adding “buddies”. [edit: sorted that bit]
Have fun.

Been playing “Kororinpa” last night. It’s the new “Super Monkey Ball”. Well not really but it’s nearer the right thing, certainly far better than SMB-Banana Blitz is.
The object’s pretty much the same. Get a ball (or penguin) to the goal picking up all the bananas (oops “crystals”). But this time you’re not limited to a certain degree of tilt. This one allows you to turn the whole stage upside down if you want to and there are occasions where that seems the best thing to do.
It’s quite good fun twisting and turning the wiimote around like a loon whilst your penguin squeaks raucously.
I need new Miis too.
Have fun.

Right now I’m annoyed. I need a besuited team of male cheerleaders to help me out.
Just taken Ouendan (broken game see below somewhere) to 2 shops. First one refused even to try the thing in the shop’s DS. ”We’re not allowed to have anything to do with import games. If we break our licence we’ll lose it and be unable to sell Nintendo stuff.” he whinged. Oh right. Just like the unauthorised selling of second hand games your shop does as well yes? Git. All I wanted was a swift favour and he went all defensive and fighty.
So to Forbidden Planet. Tested perfectly, works perfectly, no problem. Bugger.
So I have a game that cost me £30 that doesn’t work on my machine but does on other machines. The seller (Play-Asia) have told me that if the cart is ok then they won’t exchange it and if they test it and it works then they’ll send me the original one back and charge me for all the postage. Yippee.
So I’m left with a useless piece of plastic that I can’t return or play. Whooppee.
Anybody want a copy of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!? It’s better than Elite Beat Agents (at least the music is). £25 to you.
Have fun.

- Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! clearly does NOT want me to play it. The first copy I had was nicked 2 days after I got it. I got the replacement today. It doesn’t work.
- Just had a salesman round at our house. It’s after 8pm on Valentine’s day. I’ve been in conversations with them before that leave you struggling to get shot of them. Hence my response was to loudly say “NO!” and shut the door on him. Cue one annoyed salesman shouting “All righty then!” at me through the door. And now I feel guilty for being a rotter. Why should I be guilty? He’s the bloody intruder and I didn’t ask him to come round.
Sigh.

An evening of games today.
Wario Wii is quite good and ripe for multi-player fun soon.
I’ve also got the original Japanese wotsit that became Elite Beat Agents. It’s utterly mental and this feeling is perhaps emphasised by my inability to read Japanese. I’m going to have great fun with this one.
I imported Phoenix Wright 2 too, again the Japanese one. Turns out it’s cheaper to import the thing from asia now rather than wait a couple of months and pay more. The magic of a strong pound. Handily this one comes with a full English translation. Not had much of a look at this one yet.
Fun to be had.
Have fun.
