Rough Week

I was in Ashbourne on Sunday. Drove off and heard a clunk. After this lights of various colours and shapes came up on the dash. Sigh. So I stopped and looked behind me only to see a piece of car that shouldn’t have been there on the floor. But the AA man came to tow me home and a part was soon ordered and a mechanic said he’d come and repair it for a good price.

The next day was Monday and this is one of my cycle to work days. I got very wet on the way home as this seems to have been the week when the heavens have opened and stayed open.

Tuesday was another day on the bike to work. Very very wet again.

Wednesday I had to be out the house on the bike at 6.15 to get to the bus station. Then 3 buses over the day then back home on the bike. Very wet again. I’m getting my money’s worth out of my waterproofs.

On Thursday the car was still broken BUT the man is coming this morning to mend it! So up early again to cycle to the bus station again, then to Long Eaton. And I discover both of my car keys in my pocket – so I have to call the mechanic and cancel him. He’s very obliging tho and says he’ll come after I’m home this evening. At least it wasn’t very rainy this morning. Then back to town at lunchtime then to Pride Park, again not v rainy. An interesting afternoon as the stadium was hosting a classical concert for 3000 schoolkids – most annoying as the sound wasn’t much muffled by the clinic door. And eventually to home. Well another pain – the rain was back – not horrendous like the previous 2 or 3 days but bad enough. And then a mile from home my bike gets a flat tyre. Aargh!

And that was my week, great huh?
