Sore now, and a request
Ah. Back to the grind of normal life.
This last weekend I’ve been up in Harrogate doing a 2 day Pilates course. It was run by 2 physios, one of whom has done Pilates for years and the other is a dancer who’s also done Pilates for an age.
So it was awfy hard work. The mental bit is dead easy but the practice is bloomin hard, at least for me as a beginner.
So driving home yesterday was fun with a sore abdomen. It’s not so bad this morning so I guess I’m getting fitter since I started doing more and eating less rubbish.
Anyway the request. I need to teach some people the stuff I learnt over the weekend. It doesn’t need to be a formal class setting and I will be using the time to get me to fully understand it as well as pass it on. In other words I need guinea pigs.
On Saturday night I decided to Couchsurf rather than stump for a hotel. As well as being cheaper I thought it’d be a much nicer experience than sitting on my own in a dull hotel.
Unfortunately there are not many hosts in Harrogate – one guy only wants Spanish speakers, another spends half his life in France and wasn’t around and all the others either have no photo (I like to know who I’m meeting) or haven’t been on the site for months.
Hmm? What to do? So I decided to pick York. Bingo! One of the first hits was a german, and keen to host.
So I stayed with her. Sensibly she’d brought a friend along to start with I assume just for safety and they both turned out to be lovely and chatty. Oh and they cooked me dinner. Trout with warm potato salad. Very nice.
The rest of the evening was spent chatting. But only until about 2am. I had to be in Harrogate at 9 so I didn’t get the best sleep it must be said. But never mind I had a great evening with a couple of echt sound folk. Oh and Claudia was her name and her english accent was even better than Jules’s.
A good, if painful and tiring, weekend.

Righto.
Leicester lot I’m after doing a series of sessions going through the lot of stuff I learned.
Non-Leicester bods are unlikely to get here regularly enough for me to do that so I think I may do a thing at the BJC (poss Chocfest if there’s space) and certainly Bungay and Lestival.

Alex did several years of Pilates so would certainly be up for being a guinea pig: we’re planning on being at CF, BJC and of course BBU. We highly recommend Pilates BTW – it helped me get bits of my back moving, and Alex’s shape completely changed after doing it, as well as a long-standing shoulder/back complaint getting better.

I’ll be your dawg! By which I mean, of course, that I would also happily volunteer for the role of guinea pig!
‘Course, not being a “Leicester Folk” I don’t s’pose you’ll find this a particularly inviting offer. Ne’er moid, though, eh? The thought’s there.
Where will the next BJC be? And, when? Also, when’s each of Chocfest, Bungay, and Lestival? (You know that I’m not really in the loop any more, where these things are concerned, and I know I could probably find out these answers elsewhere for myself, but please, humour me, let me do this the easy way by just having you tell me the answers?…) Thanks in advance.
When are you planning your next visit to London, BTW? (That’s my idea of an invitation, if you hadn’t gathered…)
