Grr again.
Am I coming across as angry today?
My bleedin’ broadband has died again. The ADSL light is stuck flashing which seems to mean that it’s not getting any signal.
BT say it should be fine. Onetel say it should be fine. Neither seems to be able to help.
I’ve changed the filter, I’ve tried a different wire, I’ve switched off and on again about 9 times. Still dead.
Now Onetel are going to zap my line with tests in the next few days. Hopefully things will be better after that. If that fails then the only thing I can think is that the router is buggered. Maybe.
Sigh.

Broadband routers don’t last for ever, sadly: I’ve had to replace two ADSL ones and a couple of plain old routers. I think it’s crappy driver chips meself. See if you can borrow someone else’s to see if it’s that.
I have a Thomson SpeedTouch 330 ADSL/USB modem kicking about if you need it, could bung it in the post. Otherwise I recommend http://www.solwise.co.uk/
