Just spoken to them. Got a sigh from the operator.
Apparently the letters all say this but don't include the special upgrade discounts wot get offered. In other words I get a deal that normally costs £19.99 but have £12.99 discount which isn't mentioned in the letter.

So I do have the £7 per month rate. It WILL come in the next bill. Hurrah.

I've just switched to 3, who offered me £25/month for a heavy duty deal.

They started charging me £28/mo. and when I rung up to politely request a rectifcation of the mistake, they insisted that I had a contract for the larger amount. I loudly protested that no contract existed, to no avail, despite repeatedly pointing out that £25 was the agreed amount, no matter how much they say it "should ave been" £28. Many more calls later, having spoken to various managers, still no movement from them, other than to threaten me with early termination fees if I withdrew from the non-existant contract.

So I wrote to them, with the all-important words "formal complaint" in the first sentence, and told them they had a) no signature (it was a phone order); b) no internet transaction (same reason); and c) no voice recording. They rang the next day and capitulated.

Moral : Assert your rights, ideally in writing.

I had a similar letter from my mobile company. I had been told £15 on the phone, the letter said £25.

I phoned them up last night and ranted, they hung up half way through. I phoned back and ranted some more - they told me that it was a standard letter, and that the price they gave me on the phone was a special deal because I'm a previous customer - many reassurances were given that I'll only be charged £15

I'm doubtful.

Especially as the email they said they'd send me to confirm hasn't arrived...

I need to have one of those phone calls, too. My phone that supposedly came with a 2Gb memory card seems to have filled with about half a gig of music on it.
