Well ooh what a month!
So far this month my special expenses have included:
- 3 sets of window bars and a security gate.
- A house alarm.
- A new washing machine.
- 2 new brake pads and discs for the front wheels on my car.
- 2 new drums and a cylinder wotsit for the rear brakes.
- Changing a wheel bearing on the car (will this sort out the weird shakes the thing gets on motorways?)
- Something about the front wish bone and some buggered rubber bits on the ends of it.
- Lots of petrol I needn’t have used because – I still haven’t got a back door (a proper one anyway). This has meant that I couldn’t get out on my bike.
- A very nice curry.
- A couple of games.
Ah. At least there’s some good in there at the end. Hopefully by the SJC my car will be pretty solid again.

I’ve just been to buy some games this lunchtime. First one I have is Geometry Wars for the Wii. Should be a giggle.
Second one is Zack and Wiki. You may or may not have heard of this. But it’s one of those make or break moments. You see it’s a good game; NOT made by Nintendo; on the Wii! A rarity in itself but there are implications.
Lots of non-Ninty games are rubbish, tie-ins or both. They cost little to make and sell loads so companies still keep making them.
Zack and Wiki is not a cheap knock-off game – they put time and money into creating it. So if it doesn’t sell (and it hasn’t done well in the US) it sends the message to the games co’s that it’s not worth doing a good job, they merely have to tag on a name or brand to any old shite and they’ll make more money.
So I’ve done my duty. I want companies to make good, original and innovative games and I’ll put my money where my mouth is. Oh I already have.
PS Just looked in the bag and Asda have sold me an empty box! Gits. Will have to zoom there after work.
Oh and while I’m talking about games. 108 stars on SMG now. Just 12 to go (not inc the 121st one which is a whole run-through again away).

New one. Costs. Have no money now.
Bugger.
Choice was £150 to mend. Or there’s a good one in the Currys’ sale for £200. Hmmm.

I’m now officially “a lot safer” in my house.
The man with the bars has gone and left me with sets of bars on 3 windows and an humongous gate over my kitchen door.
Now still waiting for the bleedin’ back door to be replaced! Still!

Ok this one would have got me banned or censored on GatFor:
I had a read of the “Vote for President” thread and some knob decided to write this rather magic line:
Face it, the US was founded on Christianity, so you can’t just take that away.
This moron was also sayng how wonderful this Huckabee bloke is. For those of you who don’t know he’s the one who claims to be God’s candidate and thinks the planet is only 6000 or so years old. Sadly not only a fucking moron but supported by rather a lot of fucking morons which America sadly seems to have in abundance.
My response:
Ah ha ha ha. I didn’t know that they didn’t teach America’s history in American schools. How strange.
So they don’t want to teach actual science, it appears they don’t teach history, how about maths, perhaps geography (oh of course not it includes such pesky inconveniences as geology)? Perhaps you’d best stick to RE only but don’t please make yourself think that you have the slightest clue about how the world works. And don’t force it down our throats.
The thought of an America (or any other nuclear armed state) led by religious extremists (of whatever brand of idiocy) makes me feel physically ill. To think the prince of peace forged a religion that has led people to a brand of religion that may well cause far more wars than it will ever stop. Now that’s irony!
How anyone who claim LOVE moves them could possibly vote for such a negative, evil, angry and oppressive world view astounds me. Stick your religion back into YOUR house and leave the rest of us to carry on unmolested with your vicious and uncaring brand of bigotry, deliberate and celebrated ignorance and imbecility.
Why do people insist of wanting to drag America’s potential down into the mire of superstition, suspicion, ignorance and wilful stupidity?
OK so I chickened out but only ‘cos I didn’t fancy the flame war (and of course that I may not actually know much about the guy).

I heard on the beeb today that today is the day when it is most likely that you’ll make a life-changing decision. You know the sort of thing, decide to go for a new job, whether to get a new car or whatever. And of course it’s also the busiest day for your average divorce lawyer.
Now I wouldn’t normally comment on this but I heard it precisely 3 seconds after putting my name down for a german class.
Odd that.

Security continues.
My folks came over on Friday after work to stay today and help me secure the house a bit more.
We’ve decided on a couple more measures and managed to install an alarm in the house.
It didn’t work too well at first but as usual it turned out to be a stupid oversight (RTFM-type).
So extra secure AND alarmed. See the buggers try now!
