…Beadle’s a stiff.
It seems a certain Mr J Beadle has died.
He has an odd reputation. Some say he was a cruel sod who made his name by embarrassing people, causing anxiety and cringeworthiness in the viewers. A proto-Office then but not as funny.
Others knew him more for raising money and helping loads of new tv creators.
Others only knew him for his misshapen hand.
It’s an odd one. What to think?
I loathed his “theatre of cruelty” practical jokes shows. I can’t think of any redeeming features of them at all. It used to disturb me that people liked to watch people suffer. It still does a bit but I’m getting more used to it. Big Brother’s eviction nights are the same sort of feeling (when there’s a “baddie” voted out). It’s why I’d never watch any of the “talent” shows either. Horrible things.
Ah well, he’s deed n gone.
