I think I’m in for a bad week.

After a pleasant weekend I have work.  I won’t be having my half day Tuesday as per usual as I’m shortlisting for interviews for Jan.  But at least that gets me some hours back from taking time for SJC and BJC.

I cycled this morning.  Got just past town and my front gear cable snapped when I tried to climb up some gears a bit to get a shift on.  Unluckily it was just past town; if it was just before I could have dropped the bike in at the menders and got the bus.  Luckily it was right next to where I’m working this afternoon.  So I went there to lock the bike up and planned to get the bus.  Aargh no cash and no cash machines around the area either.  So back on the bike to cycle the remaining 3 miles.  In a maximum of 4th gear.  I have 15 and regularly use 13 and 14 on my commute (15 hasn’t worked for a while); I never use less than 7th and that’s only for starting at the lights so 4th was rather like driving to work in 1st gear the whole way.  Seemed to take ages but I managed to make it on time.

So tomorrow starts with an early ride to the bike shop and hoping that they can fix it within the day.  Sigh.

I think I’m paying for my holiday before it’s even started.
