Rather the point
Gordon Brown PM:
“I have nothing but praise for the British armed services”
Erm the point surely was that there’s not enough money and funding going in to the services. So saying you have “nothing but praise” for them is agreeing with the statement. It reminds me rather of John Major’s classic:
“If you’re back’s against the wall you turn round and fight”
