10 years of hurt
Gawd bless her. The saintly Diana, martyred for her cause (saving the Daily Express’s circulation), was killed precisely 10 years ago. So it seems that, not only did we have to suffer tedious media overload back then, we have to have it today as well. Damn.
I like listening to the radio usually but I listen to Radio 5 at work . Today it’s silent as they do insist upon wittering about an average-looking, dim, parasitic, social-climbing, media whore who died because she was stupid enough to get into a car with a pissed driver and even stupid enough to forget to wear her seatbelt despite this (and the driver going way over the safe speeds).
If we want to remember her how about a statue halfway between Harrods and Harvey Nicks of her striding out with a fistful of credit cards in one hand and shopping bags in the other? Either that or one of her on holiday….again.
The amount of reverence this woman got and gets is disgraceful. Can we have some proper news please?

[ps before anyone complains about the "average looking" bit, I'm just following the pattern of the interviewees on the radio this morning who all started off their descriptions of her with "she was a beautiful woman" or some such irrelevant nonsense.]
