Worst post ever
Just listening to JoJ17 – The Worst Episode Ever. I’ve had to skip large parts of it (they’re still sitting and watching videos). I’m on the bit where they’re slagging off Gatto after discussing the thread “Why do/don’t you visit the Gatto forum?”. Oh my god how inane and poorly thought out is this?
First off Gatto’s arrogant apparently. This isn’t news is it?
Then it’s that his opinion matters more than anyone else’s. That would be annoying if he was the same as everyone else. But he’s not. Ok we can discount the fact that he’s loads better than anyone else. He is but that can’t be used as a reason to think his opinions are better. That was the JoJ’s argument. It’s ludicrous and also not what Gatto has been saying if I remember correctly.
What he’s been saying is “Juggling and performing is a business. I’ve been in the business for 30 years. You haven’t. I know more than you about this business.” Which is utterly true. He may come across badly at times but he’s right when it comes to who has most experience.
But this doesn’t matter to JoJ. Everyone’s opinion is equally valid. As in other areas this is rubbish. Someone who knows what they’re doing, has spent years working at it, performed in thousands of shows at hundreds of different venues, has made mistakes and has had successes has a more valid opinion than a guy who first qualified his 5 ball cascade a week ago and has never been on stage. Surely? Unless the first guy has just been incredibly lucky.
Then onto AG’s performances. “He’s been doing the same routine for 20 something years – Boring!” Apparently. Then they go onto say that the only change has been he’s upped the numbers he uses.
Well firstly that’s not a small thing is it? 5 club backcrosses with a face balance is surely quite a bit harder than the 3 club version no? And then why has he only tweaked his routine? Because it’s a bloody good one and it works. He’s a stage performer not a net video kid. It’s hardly surprising he’s sticking to what works; it brings the money in.
Now I’ve hardly given AG praise over the years but this discussion was just utterly infantile.
A shame.
