Bi-sick-al race
Seems that for the second year running the Tour of France is screwed by drugs cheats (and that bloke who had a blood transfusion just before the stage he won the other day – oops). Who would have thunk it?
It is a shame that the sporting event that has the most live spectators attend has to put up with this rubbish. Even if it is mainly in France.
Will it survive? Sponsors are pulling out from supporting both the race and the competing teams. Punters who are interested are not bothering no more. And floaters like me are less likely to give a monkeys.
Now I like tradition so it’s a bleedin’ shame.
But the question now is “should sport be drug assisted”? Why not? Beyond the obvious infertility of steroid abuse, cycling for sport creates infertility anyway so there’s nowt new there. Ah yes those pesky long term effects of steroid abuse. Any worse than long term abuse of the body by elite level training. Well yes but they’re both quite bad – ask any footballer over the age of 50 how their knees are.
Drugs or no drugs? You decide [geordie accent needed there].
