Scum of the earth
Well this was going to be a nice post full of nice things than happened on a nice day.
It isn’t now though.
I had a lovely day with my parents where we went on a walk around Leicestershire for about 10 miles. Nice weather and nice company too.
Got home to see my juggling clubs in the middle of the floor. I didn’t put them there. Then I saw K’s bag for work and that was open. A: she’s away at the mo and B: she never leaves things that untidy.
Hmm? Oh look the back door’s been kicked in. Check front room – no laptop, no Wii, no games or controllers. Bugger. Back into first room. No effing external hard drive: you know they say that you should back stuff up? Well I did – onto the external hard drive.
I haven’t checked my old PC yet but even if I haven’t wiped that hard drive then I’ve lost about 18 months of recordings and music.
Oh and the DS has gone too. Along with Ossu Tetakae Ouendan (or whatever). I got it a day or so ago. Piss.
I’m actually not too fussed about the Wii and DS as they’re easily replaced. But the hard drive means I’ve lost a substantial part of my comedy and music collection (possibly all of it if it’s not on the attic PC).
I’m not after sympathy but if anyone reading this has any BBC comedy shows that they recorded and feel like sending my way I’ll be eternally grateful.
Bad day.
PS The post title was going to be “You don’t like cheesy baps”.
PPS I asked 2 companies to come and secure my back door. Both said they would then phoned back an hour later to ask if Monday would be ok. Honestly!

Well that *really* sucks. I’ve still got the two cds that you did me a while back – I’d be more than happy to sort you out with them. They’re Ross Noble, Mark Steel and others.

Cheers Rod
Any chance you can record last week’s News Quiz (19/1/07)? I’d really like to hear that one.
It seems that my attic PC has still got the lion’s share of the stuff I had but, as I said, it doesn’t have about 18 months of stuff on it. The only episode I’ve got is the one from Genius with me on it (it was on my dongle ‘cos someone at work wanted a listen and I didn’t bother to delete it).

I’ll keep an eye on Ebay for you to see if your stuff turns up on there.
Hope you can get everything sorted soon

Cheers Pee.
If you want details:
Acer laptop 1.3GHz, 80Gb HDD, 17″ screen.
250Gb External HDD
Creative external (USB) soundcard.
Creative Web cam.
Wii + 2 controllers (1 missing a battery cover) + Zelda:TP, WarioWare, Wii Sports
2 gamecube controllers and my memory cards (oh and they left most of the Cube games but took Super Monkey Ball 2 – the US version but they didn’t take Freeloader so they can’t use it, hah I have the last laugh)
DS (not lite) with Ossu Tatakae Ouendan (in Japanese) and Chu Chu Rocket (in the GBA slot). They took the box for OTO as well as the box for Phoenix Wright but bizarrely they left the game cartridge as well as my carry case and other games.
Pretty much all of this stuff will be unboxed (I still have the boxes).
The only other thing was my camera: a Pentax SLR (film not digital) in a blue camera bag containing the camera, 3 lenses (normal, wide angle and tele), instruction manual and filters.
I just phoned the insurers and they’re sending someone round some point this week. But they advised me not to buy anything until they’ve been, so I’m still off the net at home.

I should be able to manage to record it. I think I missed it myself anyway.

Ok, that’s downloading. I’m getting “Ross Noble On” as well.
